Luxembourg Airport is located 8.4 km east of Luxembourg's city center in the village of Findel, close to Sandwiler and the Luxembourg American Cemetery in Hamm. It takes approximately 17 minutes to drive from LUX to the city center via the N1 or N2 road routes, adjacent roads that serve airport-city traffic. You can also approach the city via the A1-A6, which acts as a ring road for travel to non-central zones.
Luxembourg Airport is both Luxembourg's principal airport and its main center for international travel. It handles over 4 million passengers per year and is the hub for Luxair, Luxembourg's flag carrier, with destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. Its busiest routes include Porto, Lisbon, Munich, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Seasonal flights are also offered to serve Europe's summer tourist season.
Luxembourg Airport is the only international airport in Luxembourg. Thus, it serves the entire country. Those in the central canton of Luxembourg are its nearest users, allowing access to Niederanven, Hesperange, Contern and Walferdange, among other communes. Car rental in Luxembourg Airport is useful for travelers exploring more than just Luxembourg City, offering road links to Château de Vianden, Bock Casemates and Château de Bourscheid.
