Rental Policies

Additional drivers must meet all renter requirements. Additional drivers can be added to the contract at any rental branch. Additional charges will apply.

Out of hours return is available for all vehicle groups. Please contact the location as specific conditions may apply.
The drop box is located on or next to the door of the rental location. Vehicles must be parked in the designated parking spaces. Rental vehicle keys and the completed rental agreement should be left in the drop box.

In Finland, the following rules apply for the minimum age and possession of a driver's license:
Minimum Driving Age: 19 Years for all groups with the exception of Premium Wagon PWAR which is 25 years.
A young drivers surcharge of 20.00 EUR per rental (incl. VAT) applies to renters aged 19 to 24.

A written permission and car registration documents provided by the rental company are mandatory to crossing the border. Please note that you must contact the rental branch at least 7 days before the rental agreement begins so that we can promise the necessary documents to you. Cross-border rentals are allowed to the following countries and a cross-border fee of 60.00 EUR (incl. VAT) will apply: Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom

Cross-border rentals to Russia are not possible. Customers traveling to Baltic States and Poland are held liable for 20% of the value of the rental vehicle. The required winter tires (without studs) for trips to foreign countries outside Scandinavia and the Baltics must be requested in advance, and the customer is held liable for all the costs related to tire change during winter season. In case of offence against Cross Border and Territorial Restrictions all protections lose their validity and the customer is held liable for full value of occurring costs and charges related to the rental.

 

Service available on request during branch opening hours only. It is available for an additional charge of EUR 155.00 (incl. VAT) applies per delivery and per collection in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area. Please contact the rental branch directly to arrange delivery and collection service.

One way rentals within Finland are possible (please see price list). International one way rentals are not permitted.

CDWTP Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection is included in all rentals in Finland. These products carry an excess of 2000 EUR in the event of damage or theft to the rental vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of your rental contract and applicable laws. This insurance product does not include damage to the tires or windshield of the vehicle.

EP Excess Protection is an optional coverage which reduces the renters financial responsibility in the event of damage or theft to the rental vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of your rental contract and applicable laws. This insurance product does not include damage to the tires or windshield of the vehicle. It is available for an additional fee of 10 EUR (incl. VAT) per day for all groups with the exception of commercial van groups which is 20 EUR (incl. VAT) per day to reduce the excess for damage and/or theft of the rental vehicle to 500 EUR per incident.
If EP is not accepted or included the customer will be held liable for damages and theft of the rental vehicle for the amount of 2000 EUR. If EP is accepted and included in rates, the customer is only responsible for the amount of 500 EUR.

Refueling Service: All vehicles are rented with a full tank and the vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as at the start of the rental period. If the vehicle is not returned refilled, we will charge a service fee of 35.00 EUR (incl. VAT) and gas/diesel will be charged at a fixed rate. The fixed price changes according to the market price.

Fuel Purchase Option: For your convenience, you may purchase a tank of fuel at the time of rental at a price that is competitive with local fuel stations. Please note that the price is depending on the vehicles tank size. This method eliminates the need for you to refill the tank before returning. Please be aware that we are unable to give a refund for unused fuel. Please check availability before the rental period at the rental branch or at the latest at the counter when you pick-up the rental car.

All major credit cards, issued by either VISA, MasterCard or American Express are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Prepaid cards, debit cards, cash and checks are not accepted. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 300 EUR for all vehicle classes. Failure to provide a credit card in the renter’s name with sufficient available funds and a valid PIN number will lead to a refusal of rental.

RAP Roadside Assistance Protection ensures continuation of journey, and protects against high service costs in case of following incidents for example: towing services due to punctured tire or accident, loss of car key, running out of fuel, stuck vehicle and flat battery starting necessities. RAP is available for a daily fee of 5.00 EUR (including VAT). If RAP is not accepted, customer is held liable for the full value of all roadside service costs.
All services may only be ordered by a direct claim with 24-hour Roadside Assistance (tel. +358 20 787 000). Roadside Assistance service is operated by our third party provider Autoliitto. They shall also determine the type and extent of service required to ensure the renter stays mobile. In the case any damage to the rental vehicle occurs which is not covered by the rental company within the scope of the Roadside Asssitance Protection coverage, the renter is liable for such damage. 

The renter and the driver must be in possession of a valid driving license.
Driving license printed with non-Roman Alphabet (Arabic, Japanese, Cyrillic etc.) must be complemented by an International driving license. For driving licenses from countries not part of the Geneva/ Vienna Convention on Road Traffic (e.g. China), the information in the foreign driving license must be written in a Latin alphabet, or accompanied by a translation into Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, English, German or French by a reliable source.
Besides the driver's license, renters from countries other than Finland will need to present a valid passport at the rental counter as proof of identity.

Protection coverage for the vehicle rented includes Third Party Liability with unlimited cover for personal injuries. Maximum cover for property damages is 5 million EUR.

The cost of a rental car depends on many factors and can vary greatly. These factors include:

To rent a car from Enterprise Rent-A-Car in the United States and Canada, you will need the following:

  • To be 25 years old 
  • A valid driver's license with a photo
  • A photo ID (For example: a driver’s license or passport)
  • Credit or debit card (check the acceptable forms of payment at the location you’re renting from)

Some locations may require additional information, including but not limited to: 

  • An International Driving Permit (IDP): If the license is written in a language or characters different to those of the country of rental, an IDP is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation.
  • Return travel and accommodation information: Visitors to the UK must also provide proof of return travel and accommodation information while in the UK. 

As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.

Fuel Policy at Non-Airport locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • A full tank of gas is not guaranteed.

Fuel Policy at Airport Car Rental Locations:

  • You may refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level you received when you picked up the vehicle, or if you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise rate which is typically above the local pump price. An additional refueling charge may apply at some locations.
  • You may opt to pre-pay for fuel -- Pre-pay gives you two conveniences:
    • You can avoid the hassle of having to fuel up the vehicle before returning.
    • Pre-pay fuel option is calculated at the local rate of gas minus a per gallon discount.

Note: Prepaid fuel is only sold in full tanks at the discounted price per gallon and is not refundable. Local fuel rates will vary by the area you are renting a vehicle.
