HOW DO REFUNDS WORK WITH DIFFERENT METHODS OF PAYMENT?


When you rent from Enterprise, the branch will collect the full cost of the rental and a security deposit before releasing the vehicle. Once the vehicle is returned, as long as there were no additional charges for fuel replacement or a late return, the branch will refund your security deposit in full.

The way in which you receive the refund is based on the method of payment used to secure the rental. Please use the guide below to determine how and when you should see your refund.

 

Credit Card Security Deposit Refunds


If you secured your rental with a credit card, the full cost of the rental and the security deposit was authorized on your account. When you return the vehicle, we immediately release the authorization and only charge your account the full amount of the rental.


Were you charged more than you were quoted?

If you were charged more than you were expecting to be charged, you may have been charged for fuel or a late return. The best way to find out why you were charged more is to check your rental receipt. This can be found online by visiting www.enterprise.com.

Once there, click on the 'Rent' button, and then select get receipt.

Debit Card Deposit Refunds


If you secured your rental with a debit card, we charge your account the amount of the rental and security deposit on the day you pick up your rental vehicle. Once the vehicle is returned, Enterprise will refund your account the amount of the deposit.

At this point, the time it takes to post to the renter's account will depend on their banking institution. Typically, renters should see their refund approximately 5 to10 business days.

Please allow your bank some time to process the request. If you do not see your refund after 10 business days, please give one of our customer service representatives a call at 1-844-377-0169 so we can review your account with you. 


Cash or Money Order Deposit Refunds

If you secured your rental with cash, you will receive the refund at the point of return or by mail depending on the location.
