How does car subscription work?

Subscribe with Enterprise is a hassle-free alternative to owning or leasing a vehicle. One monthly, auto-renewing payment provides access to a range of vehicles and includes insurance, maintenance, and roadside assistance.  Additionally, subscribers can swap out vehicles up to four times per month.  Vehicles made available under Subscribe with Enterprise include a wide range of sedans, SUV's and pickup trucks.  

How much does car subscription cost?

Subscribe with Enterprise charges include: 

  • Enrollment fee

  • Monthly subscription fee

  • Mandatory taxes and additional fees (such as Toll Pass Convenience, tickets, and citations), which may be applied monthly 
     

Your subscription automatically renews each month.  Your initial payment includes the enrollment fee, the first full calendar month's subscription fee and estimated taxes for that subscription fee.  

Your second payment includes any pro-rated fees and other taxes and charges for the first (partial) calendar month of service, the next full calendar month’s subscription fee and estimated taxes for that month’s subscription fee.

Thereafter, you will be charged each calendar month during the term of your subscription for the next month’s subscription fee and estimated taxes for that month’s subscription, along with any taxes, violations, and other fees incurred during the previous month.

What is included in car subscription?

Your Subscribe with Enterprise subscription provides you with access to a wide variety of makes and models at participating non-airport Enterprise locations in your home state and the flexibility to swap vehicles up to four times per month.   

Participating home states currently include Missouri, Minnesota, and Nevada.

Physical Damage Protection: You are responsible for the first $1,000 of any damage to a vehicle.  After satisfying the first $1,000, Enterprise will waive your responsibility for loss of, or damage to, the vehicle (including, but not limited to, towing, storage, loss of use, administrative fees and or diminishment of value).   
 
Liability Protection: Enterprise will extend liability protection for you and any Authorized Driver, with policy highlights including:

  • $100,000 liability coverage per accident for bodily injury to or death of one individual

  • $300,000 liability coverage per accident for bodily injury to or death of more than one individual 

  • $50,000 per accident for injury to or destruction of property 

To the extent required by law, Enterprise will defend you and Authorized Drivers from third-party claims alleging bodily injury, death or property damage arising out of the operation of the vehicle.

Maintenance: Enterprise will provide certain routine and preventative maintenance services as part of your subscription.  This maintenance includes oil changes, tire rotations, and other standard vehicle maintenance.  You may be asked to make a vehicle available from time to time so that Enterprise can inspect the vehicle and provide regular maintenance services.  Additional fees may apply if your vehicle requires maintenance, repair, or other services outside the scope of the standard maintenance offered under your subscription.  

Roadside Assistance: You will receive access to certain roadside assistance as part of your Subscription with Enterprise subscription, including  basic roadside vehicle support services such as replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will be towed; provided, however, that the cost of a replacement tire in not covered), lock-out service (if the keys are locked inside the vehicle), jumpstarts and fuel delivery for up to 3 gallons if vehicle is out of fuel.  Roadside assistance is available only in the United States and Canada.  Additional fees may apply if your vehicle requires roadside assistance or other services outside the scope of the standard roadside assistance offered under your subscription.

Mileage: You can drive up to 3,000 miles per month.  Unused miles roll over each month of the subscription; provided that at the end of the applicable calendar year, your mileage usage will be reconciled.  That means that any unused miles will expire, and you will be billed an excess usage fee of $0.40 for each mile over the maximum.

Where is car subscription offered?

Currently, Subscribe with Enterprise is available in Minnesota, Missouri and Nevada.  We hope to expand to other states in the near future.

What vehicles are available in car subscription?

We are excited to offer a range of cars, SUVs and trucks as part of Subscribe with Enterprise.  Examples of eligible car classes and models include: 

  • Full-Size and Premium Sedans: Nissan Altima, Chevy Impala, Toyota Camry, Chrysler 300 or similar

  • Compact, Intermediate and Standard SUVs: Ford EcoSport, Hyundai Kona, Nissan Rogue, Toyota RAV4, Ford Explorer, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Nissan Pathfinder or similar

  • Standard and Full-Size Pickup Trucks: Chevy Colorado, Nissan Frontier, Dodge Ram 1500, Ford F150 or similar 

We cannot guarantee the availability of specific makes or models.

How do I join?

Subscribe with Enterprise is available in Minnesota, Missouri and Nevada. Select the participating state in which you reside, and apply to enroll.  Please allow three business days to process your application.  If approved, you will receive an enrollment confirmation email containing your Subscriber ID and the number for our Dedicated Subscription Line, which you must call to make your first vehicle reservation

What are the requirements for applying to enroll as a joining Subscribe with Enterprise subscriber?

You must meet the following eligibility criteria in order to apply:

  • be 21 or older
  • have a valid U.S. driver’s license issued in your name and displaying your image
  • have a valid credit or debit card issued in your name
  • have a verifiable email and physical address
  • satisfy any other criteria set forth in the Subscribe with Enterprise Subscription Agreement

How do I reserve a vehicle?

If your subscription enrollment application is approved, you will receive an enrollment confirmation email with your Subscriber ID and the number for our Dedicated Subscription Line, which you must call and make your first vehicle reservation.

How are charges billed?

Your initial subscription payment is charged immediately upon acceptance as a Subscribe with Enterprise subscriber.  

Your second payment will be automatically charged on the 20th of the first full calendar month during the term of your subscription.

Thereafter, each subsequent monthly subscription payment will be automatically charged on the 20th of each calendar month during the term of your subscription.

Once your subscription terminates, you may be charged certain fees and taxes that were incurred as of or prior to the effective date of your subscription’s termination.  

To help you keep track of your monthly payments, we will email you an electronic copy of your monthly billing statement on the 10th of each month during the term of your subscription.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept all valid, bank-issued credit and debit cards issued in your name.  We do not accept pre-paid debit cards.

What is the Subscribe with Enterprise cancellation policy?

By enrolling as a Subscribe with Enterprise subscriber, you commit to an initial term of two full calendar months (in addition to any initial partial month), after which your subscription will renew automatically each month until cancelled.

To cancel your Subscribe with Enterprise subscription, email to subscribe@erac.com, include your Subscriber ID and let us know you would like to cancel. 

Once you provide your notice of cancellation, you must return any outstanding vehicle, along with any other items that belong to Enterprise or another party. You will remain liable for any fees (such as outstanding tickets, taxes, and additional monthly subscription fees if the vehicle is not timely returned) incurred as of or prior to the effective date of your subscription’s termination.

What do I need to have with me to pick up my vehicle?

When you arrive at a participating Enterprise location, you will be required to show your valid, U.S. driver's license only.  

How long can I keep the vehicle?

You may rent the same vehicle under your subscription for as long as you are a valid subscriber under the Subscription Agreement.  You may be required to return the vehicle for maintenance or other service related reasons.  If this happens, your vehicle will be exchanged with a comparable vehicle offered as part of the Subscribe with Enterprise subscription service.

How do I return or exchange vehicles?

You can return a vehicle at any participating Enterprise location in your home state during that location’s standard business hours. 

To swap your vehicle, call our Dedicated Subscription Line at 844-563-4292 and reference your Subscriber ID.   You must schedule your swap at least three business days before your desired swap date.  You can swap vehicles up to four times per month.

What happens if the vehicle is damaged, breaks down or needs repair?

Call the Dedicated Subscription Line at 844-563-4292 to report the damage or request roadside assistance. If the vehicle is operable, schedule a time to drop off the vehicle and pick up a new vehicle.

Can I drive out of state?

Yes, you may drive a vehicle out of your participating home state.  Please keep in mind that you must return and swap vehicles only at participating Enterprise locations in your home state.

Am I allowed to take my rental vehicle into a bordering country such as Mexico or Canada?

Vehicles can be driven throughout the U.S. and Canada.  

Most locations do not allow travel into Mexico. If permitted, you may be required to purchase additional services, including additional insurance to cover the vehicle while in Mexico.  Please contact the participating Enterprise location from which you plan to rent a vehicle to determine limitations, eligibility, and other applicable terms.

Please keep in mind that you must return and swap vehicles only at participating Enterprise locations in your home state.

Can I return my rental vehicle if the Enterprise location is closed?

Vehicle returns need to occur during the applicable participating Enterprise location’s standard operating hours. Please call the dedicated Subscription Line at 844-563-4292 to schedule your vehicle swap or return. 

What if I need a vehicle equipped with a mobility device?

Enterprise is committed to providing a range of Adaptive Driving Devices for subscribers with disabilities.  Adaptive Driving Devices, including left hand controls with spinner knobs, left foot accelerators and pedal extenders, are available at no additional charge. Due to the unique nature of our services and the fact that mobility devices require installation, please call our Dedicated Subscription Line, Monday - Friday during our hours of service 7am - 6pm  CST (excluding holidays) at 844-563-4292, then select option 4 to reserve a vehicle with such devices. Please note mobility device-equipped vehicles will be provided by Enterprise Rent-A-Car. We may require up to 3 three business days’ notice. What about fuel?

To avoid fuel charges, we ask that vehicle fuel levels are the same at pickup and drop-off. If you choose not to refuel the vehicle to the same fuel level, you will be charged the local Enterprise re-fuel rate.  We do not guarantee that any vehicle you use as part of Subscribe with Enterprise will include a full tank of gas at pick-up.

Do I get a credit for returning early?

If you cancel your subscription, the monthly subscription fee for the final month of your subscription will be pro-rated based on the date the vehicle is returned.  

Please be aware that you will remain liable for any fees (such as outstanding tickets, taxes, and additional monthly subscription fees if the vehicle is not timely returned) incurred as of or prior to the effective date of your subscription’s cancellation.

Can anyone else drive the vehicle?

The only persons authorized to drive a vehicle include you (as the subscriber) and, with your permission, your spouse or domestic partner (same or opposite sex) who permanently resides with you and meets the minimum age, license, and other Eligibility Criteria (as defined in the terms and conditions of the Subscribe with Enterprise Subscription Agreement).

What happens if I receive a ticket, incur a highway toll, or receive any other citations or fees in connection with a vehicle?

We will charge the payment method you have provided for any taxes, fees, fines, tickets, violations, penalties, citations, tolls or other costs incurred in connection with a vehicle.  You will be charged these amounts (as applicable) during the next billing cycle following the month in which these amounts are received by Enterprise.  

These amounts will appear in your monthly invoice.  You can also call the Dedicated Subscription Line at 844-563-4292 and select the “Billing option” to receive a copy of your monthly statement.

Will Enterprise pick me up?

In most circumstances, Enterprise can pick you up and bring you to a participating Enterprise location to rent your vehicle.  Just let the Dedicated Subscription Line representative that you speak with while reserving your vehicle that you will need to be picked up.  Geographic restrictions may apply.

Do you offer corporate benefits or special programs?

Unfortunately, we do not offer corporate benefits or special programs at this time.

Am I able to earn rewards for my rentals?

Unfortunately, Subscribe with Enterprise subscriptions do not qualify for Enterprise Plus Points, Emerald Club Rental Credits or travel partner rewards.

Can I use this service to be a driver for a ride-hailing service?

Use of any vehicle for ride-hailing or ridesharing services is prohibited.
